Dr Michael Harden, Head of Cardiothoracic Surgeon at the Royal North Shore Hospital approached QVS with a tight time frame during the second COVID lock down. Continuing care to his critically ill patients was a priority. He could not afford to let COVID slow the project down. Initially budgets went above the amount the building was willing to contribute so QVS value engineered the project to bring it in line with the funds available. This was achieved through the 30 years of relationships QVS has established with suppliers, the ability to look at project with a can do attitude and some thinking outside the square. The nominated contractor on the project was $50K more than the 2 QVS contractors quotes received. We were able to negotiate with the building managers to allow our contractor to complete the works. Measurements like this allow the project to be delivered on time and on budget.
